12" - /VG - LVCA, 6ix Tales (Superlux Records ; SPLX005, UK 2021, Stickered Plain Sleeve), Strong VG, light marks only. No sticker., The 6ix Tales EP was composed by LVCA during a fully immersed, three-month residency at a secretive studio in the centre of Toronto. The opening track, 'Teep' takes us straight into that 2am, underground, dance-floor feeling where all heads are locked into a body-jacking 4:4 journey. Deans Groove' is a driving floor stomper, set around a groovy, fast paced bass motif. Notherplan' delivers a teasing build of acid splashes, space echoes and bass notes that opens out into a tripped out future-scape of raving on Mars. 'Heavy-Duty Sound' is a glorious acid house call-and-response where staccato analogue hits swirl and jive with synthetic tones, aggregating into a near tribal trip that goes deep, deep into a Moog jungle where the flora and fauna is pulsing with electric energy.
